The authors consider the Cauchy problem for the system \[ \partial_t U= A(t)\partial_x U+ B(t)U,\quad t\in [0,T],\quad x\in\mathbb{R},\tag{1} \] \[ U(0,x)= U_0(x),\quad x\in\mathbb{R},\tag{2} \] where \(U\in\mathbb{C}^3\), \(A(t)\) is an \(m\times m\) matrix with real eigenvalues. Assume that \(A(t)\) is in \(C^{0,\alpha}([0, T])\) and \(B(t)\) in \(C^0([0, T])\). Then the authors proved that if \(m= 2,3\), the Cauchy problem (1)--(2) is well posed in the Gevrey class of index \(s\) for \(1< s< 1+{\alpha\over m}\). Moreover, they proved that if \(A(t)^2\) is Hermitian, the Cauchy, problem (1)--(2) is well posed in the Gevrey class of index \(s\) for \(1< s< 1+{\alpha\over 2}\), and besides if \(\text{det\,}A(t)\) is not zero for all \(t\), then (1)--(2) is well posed in Gevrey class of index \(s\) for \(1< s< {1\over 1-\alpha}\). The proof of theorems was done by use of quasi symmetrizers.
