A generator of the non-degenerate Hermitian surface \(H(3,q^2)\) is a line completely contained in \(H(3,q^2)\). An ovoid of \(H(3,q^2)\) is a set of points of the surface meeting each generator exactly once; it can be seen that each ovoid of \(H(3,q^2)\) contains \(q^3+1\) points. The classical example of ovoid of \(H(3,q^2)\) is given by a Hermitian curve as cut on it by any non-tangent plane. Several constructions for mutually inequivalent non-classical ovoids are known. In this paper, using the theory of permutable polarities, the authors identify a class of ovoids of \(H(3,q^2)\), \(q\) odd, which admit \(PGL(2,q)\) in their automorphism group and can be obtained by multiple derivation from the classical ovoid.
