The paper considers the space \(\Omega{\mathcal M}_2\) of holomorphic \(1\)-forms \(\omega\) on a Riemann surface \(X\) of genus \(2\). Assuming that the stabilizer \(\text{SL}(X,\omega)\) of \((X,\omega) \in \Omega{\mathcal M}_2\) under the action of \(\text{SL}_2 ({\mathbb R})\) contains a hyperbolic element, the author shows that the limit set of \(\text{SL}(X,\omega)\) is equal to the full boundary of the hyperbolic plane. Moreover, he obtains the result that there are infinitely many distinct \((X,\omega) \in \Omega{\mathcal M}_2\) with the property that \(\text{SL}(X,\omega)\) is an infinitely generated Fuchsian group. The existence of such infinitely generated groups in particular answers a question of \textit{W. A. Veech}, raised in [\textit{Y. Takahashi} (ed.), Algorithms, fractals, and dynamics, Proceedings of the Hayashibara Forum '92, New York, NY: Plenum Press, 217--226 (1995; Zbl 0859.30039)].
