The author computes the essential spectrum of the Laplace-Betrami operator for \(p\)-forms for a particular class of warped product metrics: Let \(y\) be a boundary defining function on a compact manifold \(M\) with boundary \(\partial M\), then the metric in a small tubular neighborhood of the boundary has the form \(y^{2a} dy^2+y^{2b}d \theta^2_{\partial M}\), where \(d\theta^2_{\partial M}\) is a Riemannian metric on \(\partial M\). The essential spectrum is computed in dependence of the the parameters \(a\) and \(b\).
