This paper concerns a semilinear parabolic system describing the diffusion approximation for migration and selection at a multiallelic locus. Sufficient conditions for the global loss of an allele and for its protection from loss are obtained. A certain sufficient condition for the existence of at least one internal equilibrium has also been obtained.
