    The authors study orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle \textbf{T} with respect to a measure \(\sigma\) of the polynomial Szegő class, notation \(\sigma\in \text{(pS)}\): for a given trigonometric polynomial \(p,\;p(t)\geq 0\) on \textbf{T} \[ p(t)=\prod_{j=1}^N\, | t-\zeta_j| ^{2\kappa_j},\;\zeta_j\in \mathbf{T} \] we have \(d\sigma=\sigma'_{\text{ac}}dm + d\sigma_{\text{s}}\;(\sigma'_{\text{ac}}\): absolutely continuous part of \(\sigma\); \(\sigma_{\text{s}}\): singular part of \(\sigma\); \(m\): probability Lebesgue measure on \textbf{T}) with \[ \int_{\mathbf{T}}\, p(t)\log{\sigma'_{\text{ac}}}(t)dm(t) > -\infty. \] The results concern a necessary and sufficient condition for \(\sigma\in \text{(pS)}\) (depending on the CMV-representation connected to \(\sigma, m\)), limit behavior of \({\tilde D}(z) {\tilde\varphi}^{\ast}_n(z)\) on \textbf{D}\(\,=\{z: | z| <1\}\) where \[ {\tilde D}(z) = \exp{{1\over 2} \int_{\mathbf{T}}}\, K(t,z) \log{\sigma'_{\text{ac}}}(t)dm(t) \] and \[ K(t,z)={t+z\over t-z}{q(t)\over q(z)} \] etc.), asymptotics of associated modified wave operators and---finally---an inequality result on approximation by analytic polynomials in \textbf{L}\({}^2(\sigma), \sigma\in \text{(pS)}\). The paper contains no proofs.
