Let \(^3D_4(q)\) denote the Steinberg triality group where \(q=p^n\), \(p\) a prime number. In this paper the author calculates the character tables of the three proper parabolic subgroups of \(^3D_4(q)\) in the case of odd \(p\). The complete character table of the group \(^3D_4(q)\) was already constructed by \textit{D. I. Deriziotis} and \textit{G. O. Michler} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 303, 39--70 (1987; Zbl 0628.20014)] and \textit{N. Spaltenstein} [Comment. Math. Helv. 57, 676--691 (1982; Zbl 0536.20025)] and the author uses the results of these papers on unipotent characters of \(^3D_4(q)\) to complete his work. From the text of the addendum: ``This article was to be part of this first special issue on computational algebra but was published in error in a regular issue.
