The author considers the difference equation \(x_{n+1}= \frac{x_{n-1}}{-1+x_nx_{n-1}}\), \(n = 0, 1, 2 \ldots\) and supposing that \(x_{-1}x_0\not= 1\) he deduces the expression of the even and odd terms of the solution in terms of \(x_{-1}\) and \(x_0\). The author establishes that the equilibrium points \(0, \sqrt{2}, -\sqrt{2}\) of this equation are not locally asymptotically stable and presents some consequences.
