The phenomena of explosion (blow-up) within a diffusive medium in the context of a system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations, which undergoes a massive change due to such blow-up, is investigated. The formulations, responsible for such models, give solutions which are unbounded in finite time. Section 1 is enough descriptive to realise the nature of the problem and the references from which this problem has originated. In Section 2 the constants (the critical time to blow-up \(t^*\) lower and upper bounds for which are given in terms of constants) are derived and presented explicitly in terms of certain parameters. In Section 3, for particular values of these parameters, numerical upper and lower bounds for the critical time for explosion are calculated. Section 4 discusses the asymptotic behaviour for the solution to certain system of equations \[ u(t)= \int^t_0 (t- s)^{n-1} [v(s)]^\gamma\,ds, \qquad\gamma> 0 \] and \[ v(t)= \int^t_0 (t- s)^{m-1} g(u(s))\,ds. \] Further, the growth rate for this explosion solution in the limit, as \(t\to t^*\), is established.
