The authors investigate the global behavior of the recursive sequence \[ x_{n+1}=\frac{\alpha-\beta x_n}{\gamma+g(x_{n-k})} \;\text{ for } \;n=0,1,\dots, \] where \(\alpha, \beta, \gamma\geq0\), \(k\) is a fixed positive integer, the initial conditions \(x_{-k},\cdots,x_0\) are all arbitrary and \(g(x)\) is a continuous function defined on \((-\infty,\infty)\) satisfying (i) \(g(x)>0\) for \(x>0\); (ii) \(g(x)\) is increasing on \((-\infty,\infty)\); (iii) \(\frac{x}{g(x)}\) is nondecreasing on \((0,\infty)\).
