The Heyde characterization theorem for the Gaussian distribution on the real line is well-known. In the present article, analogs of this theorem are studied for the case of finite Abelian group valued random variables. Shifts of the Haar measure of some compact subgroups of a finite Abelian group are called idempotent distributions. The role of Gaussian is done by idempotent distributions.
