Using the Hille-Phillips functional calculus, the author investigates properties of \(C_0\)-semigroups which are preserved by time-discretization methods. In Banach lattices, positivy, concavity and \(B\)-shape are considered. Contractivy is also studied in Banach spaces. In this general setting, the author improves several known results of Bolley and Crouzeix.
