The authors consider a general model of the evolution of a hypersurface and a surface reaction-diffusion system which is suitable to model cell motility. Then, based on imaging data of migrating cells, the problem of parameter identification is solved. A modification of the Levenberg-Marquard algorithm is applied to the objective functional that measures the difference between the computed and observed data. Results of numerical experiments are given, including the identification of parameters in a model of the monopolar growth of fission yeast cells.
