Let \(\varphi\) be a negative plurisubharmonic (psh) function on a bounded hyperconvex domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{C}^n\). The authors show that under certain conditions on the sublevel sets \(\{\varphi<-s\}\) and/or the Monge-Ampère measure \((dd^c\varphi)^n\), the function \(\varphi\) admits global psh subextension to \(\mathbb{C}^n\) with logarithmic growth at infinity. For example, if \(\omega\subset \Omega\) is open and the function \(\chi(s)=\text{cap}(\{z\in\omega:\varphi(z)<-s\},\Omega)\) satisfies \(\int^\infty_1\chi(s)^{1/n}\,ds<\infty\), then for any \(\varepsilon >0\) there exists a psh function \(V_\varepsilon\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) such that \(\limsup_{z\to\infty}V_\varepsilon(z)/\log|z|\leq\varepsilon\) and \(V_\varepsilon\leq\varphi\) on \(\omega\). Another result is that for every \(\varphi\) from Cegrell's class \({\mathcal F}(\Omega)\) there exists a psh function \(V\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) such that \(u\leq\varphi\) on \(\Omega\), \(\limsup_{z\to\infty} V(z)/\log|z|\leq\int_\Omega(dd^c\varphi)^n\) and \(\max_{\overline\Omega}u=0\). It is also shown that in some cases it is possible to control the Monge-Ampère measure of the subextensions.
