The paper studies the interpolation of a finite scattered data set by translates of a single basis function. The author has employed the technique used by Brownlee and Light to extend their work to more general weight functions. The native space contains functions possessing a certain amount of smoothness. The notion of local native spaces is discussed. This paper establishes error estimates when the function being interpolated is conspicuously rough.
