\textit{V. K. Kharchenko} produced seminal work on differential identities of prime rings [e.g. Algebra Logika 17, 220-238 (1978; Zbl 0423.16011)] and here the authors extend his results to identities involving a single skew derivation. Thus if \(R\) is a prime ring, \(\delta\) is an outer \(\sigma\) derivation of \(R\) for the automorphism \(\sigma\), and \(\{g_i\}\) is a set of mutually outer automorphisms of \(R\), then any identity \(f(x_i^{\delta^j g_k})\) for \(R\) with coefficients in the Martindale quotient ring of \(R\), yields the GPI \(f(x_{ijk})\) for \(R\). The result also describes the minimal algebraic relation for \(\delta\), if any, in which case \(\text{char\,}R=p>0\). The actual statements in the paper have more general hypotheses and both more specific and detailed conclusions. | |||

The actual statements in the paper have more general hypotheses and both more specific and detailed conclusions.
