The authors develop an analytical approach to calculations of the temperature and polarisation power spectra of the cosmic microwave background due to inflationary gravitational waves. The WKB approach is used. Scaling relations for temperature and polarisation power spectra are given. The origin is explained of the peak locations in the temperature and polarisation power spectra.
