The author deals with the 1D periodic defocusing quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS). For the investigation of global wellposedness a normal form reduction by symplectic transformations and I-method [\textit{J. Colliander, M. Keel, G. Staffilani, H. Takaoka} and \textit{T. Tao}, Math. Res. Lett. 9, 659--682 (2002; Zbl 1152.35491)] are used.
