A new method is proposed for the purpose of degree elevation and knot insertion for B-spline curves. While several methods for this are already known, the authors stress the implementability and the speed of their new approach. The algorithm is described in detail and many examples are given to show its usefulness. Also, there is a careful comparison with alternative algorithms.
