The paper develops induction of (co)representations and the imprimitivity theory in the setting of locally compact quantum groups. More specifically, given a closed quantum subgroup of a locally compact quantum group, the author describes the induction of unitary corepresentations of the quantum subgroup to the quantum group. The author proves the imprimitivity theorems which unify the existing theorems for actions and coactions of groups. These involve the definition and the proof of existence of a quantum homogeneous space of a locally compact quantum group and the establishing of a Morita equivalence of crossed products and homogeneous spaces. The Morita equivalence is proven by using von Neumann algebra techniques.
