The paper gives an example of a decomposable Specht module. It is known that such a module can exist only if the base field has characteristic 2 and the corresponding partition is 2-singular. There are also examples of Specht modules over fields of odd characteristic which do not have a unique maximal, respectively minimal, submodule.
