The author gives a simple proof of the known fact that there exist infinitely many imaginary quadratic fields with class numbers divisisible by a given integer. The author also constructs infinitely many imaginary cyclic quartic fields whose relative class numbers are divisible by p, where p is a given prime congruent to 1 modulo 4.
