The authors consider permutations A, B where \(C=AB\) has prescribed order or is transitive. In particular, they consider cases where \(A^ 2=1\) and C is transitive, and where the underlying set is finite and A, B, C have given orders. Many old results are mentioned and extended. The proofs use coset diagrams.
