    Le but de cet article est de montrer l'intérêt que présente l'ensemble N(R) des idéaux à gauche d'un anneau R n'appartenant à aucune topologie de Gabriel à gauche propre. Les anneaux R tels que \(N(R)=\{0\}\) sont caractérisés; l'une de ces caractérisations est: R est non singulier à gauche et \(Q^{\ell}\!_{\max}(R)\) est un anneau réduit; divers cas particuliers de ce résultat sont détaillés. Il est démontré que N(R) est le complémentaire (dans le treillis des idéaux à gauche de R) d'une topologie de Gabriel à gauche propre si et seulement s'il existe un idéal bilatère I de R T- nilpotent à droite tel que N(R/I) soit formé de tous les idéaux à gauche non rationnels dans R/I; en particulier N(R) est constitué par tous les idéaux à gauche propres de R si et seulement si le radical de Jacobson J de R est T-nilpotent à droite et R/J est simple artinien. L'étude du cas où N(R) est intersection des complémentaires d'un nombre fini de topologies de Gabriel à gauche propres maximales permet de généraliser des résultats de \textit{J. A. Beachy} [Can. J. Math. 27, 115-120 (1975; Zbl 0296.16003)]. Enfin si R est noethérien d'un côté, il est démontré que les idéaux premiers minimaux de R sont localisables à gauche si et seulement si pour tout idéal à gauche L de N(R) on a \(L+W/W\in N(R/W)\) où W est le radical premier de R.
