Symmetric cooperative games are considered and their symmetric solutions are characterized. The symmetric solutions, i.e. the symmetric stable sets, are investigated for games whose cores have non-empty intersections with at least 4-dimensional surfaces of the imputation sets. The main results concern the conditions under which symmetric solutions exist and are unique. Moreover, the symmetric solutions are completely described for all types of five-person symmetric games with non-empty core.
