The author extends investigations of \textit{H. Rund} [Colloquium on the calculus of variations, University of South Africa (1966); see also Ann. Mat. Pure Appl., IV. Ser. 55, 77-104 (1961; Zbl 0149.328) and Tydskr. Natuurwet. 7, 474-497 (1967; Zbl 0183.292)] and \textit{A. Moór} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 223, 131-137 (1966; Zbl 0149.328)] about pairs of variational problems whose Euler-Lagrange expressions are proportional, the factor of proportionality being supposed to be of the form \(\lambda\) (x,ẋ,ẍ).
