As stated in the title we give an affirmative answer to Riemenschneider's conjecture that isolated quotient singularities are stable under deformations. Of course, higher dimensional isolated quotient singularities being rigid (Schlessinger), it is enough to consider the two dimensional case. The proof relies on a characterization of quotient singularities in terms of ''integral parts of \({\mathbb{Q}}\)-divisors'' with support in the exceptional locus of a desingularization.
