The authors investigate the free convection of an electrically conducting viscous fluid in a vertical wavy channel in the presence of a heat source (or sink) and a uniform orthogonal magnetic field. Using the Boussinesq approximation they make a perturbation analysis up to the first order and determine the complete solution for various values of the magnetic parameter, heat source, wallwaviness parameter, and free convection parameter. A comparison between the hydromagnetic and the corresponding hydrodynamic solution is made and special attention is given on the characteristic features of the flow, heat transfer, skin friction and the Nusselt number at the walls.
