    Aus den Bewegungsgleichungen einer idealen, inkompressiblen und homogenen Flüssigkeit werden die Hamiltonschen Variationsgleichungen und die Lagrangefunktion für einige Wirbelströmungen im mehrfach zusammenhängenden Gebiet abgeleitet. Die Lagrangefunktion wird in expliziter Form als ein Funktional des Randes der Flüssigkeit und der Normalgeschwindigkeit definiert. Damit ist man in der Lage, einige dynamische Probleme von gewissen Körpern in der Flüssigkeit, von Wirbelströmungen und von Strömungen mit einer freien Oberfläche mit Hilfe der Methoden der analytischen Mechanik zu lösen.
