This paper uses the methods of the first paper in this series [reviewed above] to construct a group with the properties of the title. The finitely presented group with unsolvable conjugacy problem constructed by \textit{C. F. Miller III} [in Stud. Logic Found. Math. 71, 483-506 (1973; Zbl 0286.02048)] is shown to embed into one of the class of finitely presented simple groups constructed in this earlier paper. It is then shown that the unsolvable conjugacy problem is inherited by the simple group.
