    Es sei K(n) die kleinste natürliche Zahl k, so daß jede Hermitesche \(n\times n\)-Matrix als Linearkombination von k Projektionen (Hermitesche idempotente \(n\times n\)-Matrix) dargestellt werden kann. Verf. beweist \(\min\{3,[\log_ 2n]+1\}\leq K(n)\leq\min \{4,[\log_ 2n]+1\}.\) Speziell gilt \(K(1)=1\), \(K(2)=K(3)=2\), \(K(4)=...=K(7)=3\).
