    Let (A,G,\(\alpha)\) be a \(C^*\)-dynamical system with G compact and \(\delta\) be a closed *-derivation in A commuting with the action \(\alpha\). Let \(A^{\alpha}\) be the fixed algebra for \(\alpha\). The author shows that \(\delta\) is a generator if \(A^{\alpha}\cap {\mathcal D}(\delta)\subset\ker \delta\) and \(A^{\alpha}\) is contained in the center of A. This implies that if \(\alpha\) is an ergodic action, then \(\delta\) is a generator. The latter is also proved by \textit{F. Goodman} and \textit{P. E. T. Jørgensen} [Commun. Math. Phys. 82, 399-405 (1981; Zbl 0501.46061)]. There are many relevant results about this generator problem such as those results by \textit{O. Bratteli} and \textit{P. E. T. Jørgensen} [J. Funct. Anal. 48, 107-133 (1982; Zbl 0485.46035)], \textit{A. Kishimoto} and \textit{D. W. Robinson} [Publ. Res. Inst. Math. Sci. 18, 1121-1136 (1982; Zbl 0509.46051)], \textit{F. Goodman} and \textit{A. J. Wassermann} [J. Funct. Anal., 55, 389-397 (1984; reviewed above)] etc.
