The author investigates feedback stabilization of infinite-dimensional discrete-time systems by finite-dimensional controllers. He constructs an output feedback controller using the concepts of state feedback on the stabilizing subspace and discrete-time finite-dimensional observers. The design procedure is basically a modal approach which is realized in finite-dimensional theories and algorithms.
