Generalizing kernels of Jackson- and of Korovkin-type the author constructs (in a way which cannot be described here in short words) different positive linear operators mapping the space C(I), \(I=[a,b]\subset (0,1)\), into the subspace of all algebraic polynomials of degree n or less. Three main theorems and Corollary 2.1 give direct, inverse and saturation theorems for these operators in the sup- and in the \(L_ p\)-norms.
