On bounded functions with a finite number of negative squares (Q762403): Difference between revisions

In the case of a locally compact abelian group G we give a characterization for bounded continuous functions on G which have a finite number of negative squares. We show that in a certain sense these functions can be regarded as a special case of positive definite functions.
