Suppose that f is a real, continuous strictly increasing function on \(I=[0,a]\), differentiable at 0 and such that \(0<f'(0)=q<1\) and \(0<f(x)<x\) if \(x\in (0,a]\). An iteration semigroup \(\{f_ t\), \(t>0\}\) of f is a set of functions \(f_ t: I\to I\) such that \(f_ t(f_ s)=f_{t+s}\), \(f_ 1=f\). The iteration semigroup is regular if all \(f_ t\) are continuous on I and differentiable at zero. Under some additional conditions on f the author gives a formula for a regular iteration semigroup of f and obtains a unique \(C^ 1\) solution of the functional equation \(\phi^ N=f\), where \(\phi^ N\) denotes the N-th iterate of \(\phi\).
