    Es werden eine Serie bekannter Methoden zur Konvergenzbeschleunigung von alternierenden und monotonen Reihen, von Fourier- und Potenzreihen aufgeführt und einige allgemeine Prinzipien für solche Methoden aufgestellt. Für die Transformation divergenter Potenzreihen (numerische analytische Fortsetzung) werden einige Sätze bewiesen, deren Reichweite nicht ganz klar ist. Überhaupt sind die Ausführungen vage und allgemein; über eigene numerische Erfahrungen wird nicht berichtet. Für den Anwender, der angesichts einer gegebenen Reihe nach brauchbaren Methoden zur Konvergenzbeschleunigung sucht, sind deshalb die beiden Arbeiten von \textit{D. A. Smith} und \textit{W. F. Ford} [SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 16, 223-240 (1979; Zbl 0407.65002); Math. Comput. 38, 481- 499 (1982; Zbl 0487.65004)] eher zu empfehlen.
