    Ist D ein Gebiet aus \({\mathbb{C}}\), dessen Rand aus endlich vielen Kurven besteht, und \(z_ 0\in D\), so gibt es zwei Schlitzfunktionen \(P_ 0\) und \(P_ 1\) auf D, so daß für \(j=0,1\) die holomorphe Funktion \(P_ j(z)-1/(z-z_ 0)\) in \(z_ 0\) verschwindet und \(P_ 0\) bzw. \(P_ 1\) das Gebiet D konform auf ein Gebiet \(P_ 0(D)\) bzw. \(P_ 1(D)\) abbildet, dessen Rand aus waagerechten bzw. senkrechten Schlitzen besteht. Für \(\Phi_+:=(P_ 0+P_ 1)/2\) und \(\Phi_-:=(P_ 0-P_ 1)/2\) hat Schiffer bewiesen: \[ (*)\quad \Phi_-(z)=- (1/\pi)\iint_{A}(d\xi d\eta /(\zeta -\Phi_+(z)))\text{ für }z\in D,\quad \zeta =\xi +i\eta \] \[ (**)\quad \iint_{A}(d\xi d\eta /(\zeta-w)^ 2)=0\text{ für alle }w\in \overset\circ A, \] wobei Å das Komplement von \(\Phi_+(D)\) ist, und in (**) es sich um den Cauchy Hauptwert handelt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden (*) und (**) für verallgemeinerte Schlitzfunktionen auf einer Riemannschen Fläche vom Geschlecht Null, die nicht vom Typ \({\mathcal O}_{AD}\) [siehe \textit{L. V. Ahlfors} und \textit{L. Sario}: Riemann surfaces (1960; Zbl 0196.338)] ist, bewiesen. Dabei werden die Hilberttransformationen und die extremalen Eigenschaften von \(\Phi_+\) und \(\Phi_-\) benutzt.
