We present an irreducible realization scheme for matrix fractions of multivariable systems under the Kalman module structure interpretation of dynamical linear systems. The realization is computationally and conceptually simple. It also provides an insight into the relation between the state space description and the matrix fraction description of the linear systems. Some related problems are also discussed.
