    Als Verallgemeinerung der Anfangsrandwertaufgabe für hyperbolische Gleichungen betrachten die Verf. das folgende Anfangswertproblem in einem Banachraum X: \[ (1)\quad du(t)/dt=A_ 0(t)u(t),\quad u(0)=u_ 0\in D(A_ 0(t)). \] Hierbei ist \(A_ 0(t)\) Generator einer Halbgruppe auf X und der Definitionsbereich \(D(A_ 0t))\) hängt von t ab. Unter geeigneten Voraussetzungen wird die Existenz einer Lösung von (1) bewiesen. Der Fall der Anfangsrandwertaufgabe für eine hyperbolische Gleichung 2. Ordnung mit Neumann-Randbedingung wird als Beispiel behandelt.
