Based on Tresca's yield condition and the associated flow rule, the stress distribution in a circular disk of elastic-perfectly plastic material exposed to a circular heat source is discussed. After a certain time of exposure, stress image points of the plastic region migrate from one side regime through a corner to another side regime of the Tresca hexagon.
