For solving special initial value problems for systems of second order ordinary differential equations with periodic solutions families of both fourth and sixth order P-stable methods are discussed. The coefficients of the numerical formulae are computed and conditions of P-stability are obtained. Among them there are distinguished methods which are almost P-stable with least phase lag.
