In this paper a perturbation method has been used to study the steady laminar flow of an incompressible Newtonian fluid in a symmetrically furrowed channel. Solution has been obtained by expanding the stream function of the flow in terms of a parameter describing the amplitude of the channel walls. Flow field and wall shear stress have been calculated numerically upto first order terms. The location where the separation begins and the associated critical Reynolds number have been determined. The comparison of the results with other analytical and experimental solutions concludes the paper.
