The problem of linear displacement of oil (Newtonian fluid) by a power law fluid (non-Newtonian fluid) has been analysed using the frontal advance theory. A stability condition for the interface movement has been obtained and found that gravity forces and threshold gradient tend to stabilize the interface movement.
