This paper discusses a certain aspect of the problem of standardization when a test population and a standard population are compared regarding various risks of death. Simultaneous prediction intervals for cause specific relative standardized risk ratios based on externally standardized proportional mortality measures are obtained as large sample approximations, giving a multivariate normal distribution. The desired probability statements are then given as upper bounds by using Sidak's and Slepian's wellknown inequalities. A numerical example is given.
