The following axisymmetric mixed-mixed boundary value problem for a transversely isotropic elastic half-space is considered: arbitrary normal and radial tangential displacements are assumed inside a circle, and the normal and tangential stresses are prescribed outside. The analysis is concentrated on the evaluation of the stresses inside the circle and the displacements outside. The exact solution to the problem is presented in four different forms. The advantages and disadvantages of each type of solution are discussed. The relationships for transforming one type of solution into another are established. Some particular cases are considered. An application of this technique to the investigation of stresses generated in the operation of bonded punch is presented.
