The main result of this work is the following theorem: Let a sequence of eigenstates of a Hamiltonian H be localized to a region R in phase space. Then there exists a measure \(\mu\) whose support is in R and which is invariant under the flow of H. The term localization here is in the sense of \textit{A. I. Shnirel'man} [Usp. Mat. Nauk 29, No.6(180), 181-182 (1974; Zbl 0324.58020)]. The proof of the theorem is based on a slight extension of an earlier related theorem given by the first author [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 26, 997-1018 (1977; Zbl 0373.35060)].
