We mainly discuss the singularity-separating method [e.g.: the second author and \textit{B.-M. Chen}, ibid. 9, 339-363 (1981)] for discontinuous initial value problems for nonconvex quasilinear equations, by which several examples have been successfully solved. Also we show several results obtained by using the Richtmyer scheme, the E-O scheme and the Harten scheme.
