On every abelian group we have, besides the basic operation \(+\), three derived binary operations, and namely x-y, \(-x+y\), -x-y. In the paper, the corresponding varieties and some of their equivalents are investigated. A special attention is paid to finite bases of identities. Also, some generalizations for groupoids are mentioned.
