For the convolution F*G of \(F\in L_ p(-\infty,\infty)(p\geq 1)\) and \(G\in L_ 1(-\infty,\infty)\), the fundamental inequality \(\| F*G\|_ p\leq \| F\|_ p\| G\|_ 1\) is known. For \(F,G\in L_ 2(-\infty,\infty)\), in general, \(F*G\not\in L_ 2(- \infty,\infty)\). In this paper, an identification of a Hilbert space spanned by the convolutions \(F*G(F,G\in L_ 2(-\infty,\infty))\) and fundamental inequalities in the convolution are given. The basic idea comes from a general theory of integral transforms using the theory of reproducing kernels.
